[T1 + T2] Model Manipulations

I am trying to get individual shots of tribes models for animation, meaning.. manipulate the models (skinned) for each frame. What I need to know is:

What files do I need from either/both Tribes 1 or Tribes 2
What software is best for viewing these files?

edit: goddamnit.. how could I fuck up the suject line like that.. I suck at TEH Interweb.
