Russ']What Perrin fails to mention is the Repair turrets deployed in the room and the fact theres an emergency station also in the room.
i havent seen the size of the room, but i would hope that repair turrets only take one mortar to kill, and and what does the emergency station do apart from repair packs? does it heal like an inv?

The room at the moment is about 2 to 2 and a half mortar explosions long and a maortar explosion wide.
One mortar shot doesnt kill a deployable repair turret instantly, currently.
An emergency station dispenses repair packs, which I can then activate to repair the deployable repair turret, which is also healing itself.
so if you grab them from the station they are already "charged" unlike picking them up off the ground?
how many disc's/mortar's does it take to destroy the repair turret?

Not real sure I like the sound of that bud. That really does seem to favor turtling.

BrainSt0rm 05-18-2004, 05:26 AM Nice review. Can't wait to beta that mofo.
Nice review, a lot of typos but still :)
Hmm, no beacons? They were quite useful.
I think that manual waypointing should be added though, I mean so you'll know where you're going. Or could keep track of where your friends are. I don't mean all teammates, I mean particular people you actually know.
One question to anyone who might know:
Can the grappling hook grapple to vehicles? I mean that would be very useful and EXTREMELY fun! This is something I would really like to see in T:V.
I don't think it would make it too easy to do anything, like cap for example, since you could just use a vehicle to get away anyway, so why couldn't you grapple on to one. If you do that, then you could still be shot and all that, so I don't really see a problem.

On that particular map, yep. We've already begun discussing ways of fixing that :)
Imposter 05-18-2004, 10:11 AM Do jumppads you place give a boost to an enemy player?

Good deal!
Stilgar 05-18-2004, 11:31 AM Nice Perrin...

.....
You bastard.
|MrSniper|Nyx 05-18-2004, 05:34 PM Thanks Perrin, this review is much appreciated; Much better thought progression and actual content than Mushashi's. You made me want the TL and Rep Kit though :(.
nSpectre 05-18-2004, 06:45 PM The turrets are set up in little dispensers inside the base. So I went up to one, pressed E, and promptly blew myself up. Ahhhh yes, E would be grenade, and not use in this wouldn't it? Rectifying my mistake, I was handed out, from the friendly dispenser, one turret of my very own. to have and to hold, until death do us part. Which in this case was about 3 seconds as E was STILL not the use button.
Nice write up, P
WinterFreshX 05-18-2004, 08:18 PM Do jumppads you place give a boost to an enemy player?
I think they should because that would make their placement very important as well as add more strategy to it.
enDless_Delirium 05-18-2004, 09:05 PM I believe it was said that as of right now, yes jump pads give a boost to both teams.
Which really does make them more strategic. I am willing to bet they'll be used mostly on defense (unless they deploy uber fast, so a light could deploy one mid-ski and still get the boost from it) to help LD boost up to speed to catch cappers and such.
Though thinking about it I could also see cappers using it to mess up chasers. While speedingsomeone up isn't generally good, if you did it right before a turn (perhaps a grapple-based turn) it could buy you seconds as the chasers go flying off in the wrong direction thanks to your jump pad :)
DeadlyRabbit 05-19-2004, 07:59 AM That was a entertaining read, a lot of good information in there too. :bighthumb:
