Some things..
How many guns are on the rocket Pod? How many projectiles does that shotgun blaster shoot?

Very informative review :)

I believe it uses a bit too much energy in its current state. As a light in active combat (occasional jetting),

this sounds scary. the guy reviewing t3 *occasionally jets* as a light in combat?

When I'm using an energy based weapon, I tend to not use up all my energy. Smart way to use it huh?

You are correct, the way col described it as currently working is indeed linear. However, the way he proposed it working is non-linear, and that's what Experimental was talking about. I'm [I]fairly[/b] certain that our physics programmer understands the difference between linear and non-linear ;)
In my eyes, all are guilty until proven innocent. I sure hope he understands that, his posts haven't convinced me. ;)

I am wondering about this "how many times you have hit the pad" thing

wouldn't it work to have the grapple disconnect when you jet? or do you still have use for jetting while connected?
...I didn't see this answered anywhere else, so:
I think an auto-disconnect for the grapple would take a lot of skill out of using it. Besides, jetting while grappled can be a lot of fun and is also useful.

Useful: If you grapple an object like a vertical pole and start jetting you can use the grapple to swing you around it at speed. Then you can disconnect and keep moving having changed direction without losing [and, in some cases, even gaining] speed.

Fun: You can grapple a horizontal beam and use your jets you can swing around it in big circles over and over again until you [or an onlooker] get motion sick and have to stop playing for a while.

Very informative review :)Hmmm. The Rocket Pod is a weapon. The Fighter is a vehicle. Not sure which you're speaking of, so I'll try to cover both:

The fighter fires rockets from either side of the vehicle, alternating left, right, etc... At a guess one rocket ever half second or so.

The Rocket Pod fires six rockets one after another in a spiraling circle pattern. Currently (could change) a light carries 24 rockets (4 shots), a medium about 60 (10 shots), and a heavy about 96 (16 shots). That's from memory, and I give myself about a 75% chance of being wrong on the medium and heavy.

Did someone call my name?

LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAA!

Do we know all the weapons by now?
Quit being such a fag, fag :p

And gj on the review Col (I didn't actually read the review, my assessment of it is actually based on the assessment of your assessment by others, so to that extent I say gj - hey, this is a tough crowd to please, especially for you) ;)

I'm curious how this will animate. Will we see upside-down player models? Will the camera normal rotate as well?

I have no idea why I typed Rocket Pod, yes I ment the fighter. Thanks :) Sounds like 4 | 8 | 16 would be about right for the ammo on the pod, or 4 | 6 | 10 if its is a bit powerfull.

(and after constant complaining by other attendees wanting to get their hands on the machines)

Col: Look buddy, I run a tribes site with ten tousand members. If I go back and tell them I didn't get a good playtest because there were other people in line, they are going to get angsty. It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility that one is crazy enough to execute a hit. This is for your safety.

I know many things will be fixed/corrected in Beta, Colosus, but I still have that ever emerging fear of UE. If this is covered, then I apologize for asking again: Did/does the game crash often, not too often, or none at all while you played? And if so, how did the dev team respond, was it to be corrected in the near future, through beta? Or *gasp* after release? hehe (I know the last part is dumb but shit, it happened in some other game :P).

Everyone who played it, said it crashed.

Once an hour, atleast--was the impression I got.

Thrax said it was mostly related to the Havok system. Which they are still working with Havok to merge in the system (replacing Karma). Kinks are still working out.

I think this should not be a light armor weapon at all. While I hear that the damage on this thing isn't insane, the amount of shots seem to be rather high. Another thing is, when you have 3-4 people firing rocket pods off at, lets say a large vehicle (forgot the name of that transport), does it start to cause insane FPS lag? Tons of trailers, tons of objects on the screen, not to mention the already present players and the explosions that it will cause.

Oh, and by the way, this is from my experience playing Onslaught in UT2k4. On larger maps, when you get to the last node, generally you have a ton of firing, rockets, AVRiLs, tank shells, and whatnot. It gets to a warpy kind of lag.

Once an hour is something that seems to not hinder it as much (and offers a lot more hope) than once every 5 minutes. If that's the case, then I look forward to testing it. :)

And just to note, all of the exceptions are HANDLED now ;)

You get the usual Unreal pop up that you might have seen when other Unreal engine based games crash.

Of course the one crash I had came in the middle of playing against the IGA guys :(
