A Grim Fandango style jazz soundtrack would be awesome!

I hope they don't spend too much $$$, on music. I always end up just turning it off. If you need music, what's wrong with winamp?

T2 music staaaaaaaaaank. it was far to obtrusive.

one game that hasnt been mentioned is Mechwarrior2: Mercenaries. I've got some of the stuff on my mp3 list... the only drawback they had was the relative shortness of all the tracks, but otherwise they had great variety in the feel and mood.

would be a good song for everyone once you beat SP :dHoly shazbot! I actually wanted that music as the theme song of the game, but couldn't get it for less than $250,000. All the music is original, done by Eric Brocius who did all the sound and music for Thief and System Shock 2 (along with many other games).

Wow, that would be the second person I would want besides Tim Clarke. System Shock 2 music was great. Especially the techno music in medsci. All that music is available here:

I suggest medsci1 and hydroponics1.

They should really put some NIN, Manson, Rob Zombie, or something that would fit the missions and the moments

You do have a point there, Becasue we all know we'll end up turning it off with in the first week becasue its going to be getting old.
Whats wrong with a 10 dollar raido and some 2 dollar head phones? and you can pick your OWN music!

How does "gag me with a whale penis" strike you as an opinion on that soundtrack?

The fourth part you mentioned is good, though.

There is something to be said for well-done game music. Done properly, game music can really enhance the atmosphere of a game.

Stuff like the highly varied Street Fighter 2 soundtrack, or the rock-intensive Guilty Gear X2 soundtrack, or the highly varied epic tunes of the Final Fantasy series. You've got stuff that fits the moment, stuff that isn't just techno or rock or rap or industrial. Battle themes with acoustic guitar and furious piano. Spaghetti western showdown music mixed with epic string symphony. Peppy bebop, occasionally substituted by a driving rock opera. The quirkier, the merrier for me. I like game soundtracks that are willing to experiment, and willing to pour heart and soul into making music part of the gaming experience.

It can't always be AC/DC and Guilty Gear for me. I am always open to an appreciable game music experienc unique to a certain game, and I should hope that T:V's music isn't specifically designed to be throwaway (though I highly doubt that is the case).

This is great stuff. I'm very happy to hear that the same person who crafted these fine pieces is also making T:V's music.

So like if I produced some tracks that were really cool, what are the odds of you Dev's actully listening to them? I produce my own music and think I could put at least one track together that sounded similar to clarks T1 ST which, was infact the shazbot. Just a thought, as I could careless about making money of it.

I'm familiar with that route. First time I tried to do a live gig I flopped a bunch. But than again, its a lot harder to perform a continous mix with a laptop, midi board and keyboard than to mix records-especially when your using a phacked out Reason/Cubase setup.
I learned my lesson on that one...I guess I'll see what I can do and post some shizzy wizzy for all to hear.
