Tribes 2 Down?

They cant turn off the foundation to the game heh

Things wont work (ie, you cant play now, can you?)

They could pretty easily patch out the need to authenticate I'm sure. But that's just it, they would most likely need to do it with a patch which would cost them money.

Let's be realistic though, if they don't even feel a need to inform the community of what is going on they are not going to spend more money just to keep us happy. Customer satisfaction is obviously not even a consideration to them at this point much less a priority.

If it weren't for Thrax being a stud and drudging up a little nfo for us we would have no clue wtf is going on at all. Not that we do at this point.

I wasn't trying to dis on you when I said Sierra sucks, but come on. They must have a team of chimpanzees working round the clock humping the christ out of our beloved auth servers hoping that eventually one of them will accidentally pork the power button and breathe new life into T2.

On another note, can't one of you super programmer dudes take this udp workaround, add a script that has these servers report to one master server, like some dependable freewebspace at Yahoo! or something. Basically like a web based interface, something like the master server list in-game and clicking a link can launch your t2 into that server or send a command to an already open t2 to join the specified ip? Does this make sense? Kind of like a gamespy sort of thing except this would actually be useful.

By the way, browser info is not working (cant view buddy list/warrior information, its all broken).

May want to fix that...

I think he is quite aware that VU smokes the pole, but when your under the thumb you don't bite it.

As for a web interface, all servers would have to report to it, it can be done quite easily since T2 does have the functions to send and receive data via TCP. Only problem is this UDP workaround adds quite a bit of lag to the equation. There is probably some way to do this on the OS level that would work much better then this third party app.

so just because these fudgeing porkers who cant pay 10 bucks for a game thats 4 years old that we got for like 60 bucks this game is down just to let noobs in thats bs make them pay for a game i wasnt paying tribes series for 6-8 years for notting

Will Tribes2 be finishe with this server move soon? I haven't been able to contact anyone in my tribe for quite some time now.
