Practice Mod for T:V?

I thought one of the better features about classic was practice mod. It let you put pads all over the map and then you could teleport to each one (real nice for doing routes or o v d practice or any number of other things). It also had projectile cam, spawn in favorite, 999 ammo, etc...

It would be awesome to have something to enhance team practice in T:V as well.

I thought they were removing scriptability...

Practice CTF would be a mutator. scripting is only gone clientside.

So, it would still be better if it's in the game when it comes out. Especially since the devs would be able to do cooler things than someone making a mutator.

If anyone has been keeping track of the different utilties for UT2003 or UT2004 ebing released, there a number of good ideas (and code) that the Tribes Community Devs can use as inspiration:

Mutators for easier managing of dedicated servers:
-account managment
-map rotation
-remote commands
-Tournament features
-add ons for cheat prevention

Classic Mutators
-Gametypes
-Practice modes
-InstaGib
-mixing of gametypes (although seems UGM allows that already)

I certainly believe Irrational will release a game that is a basic package, well polished and as bug free as possible, but every other "feature" will come from the community as the needs and ideas will be incredible more varied and specific than what the IGM devs can think about.

Not server side

I'm still gonna miss client-side scripting, if only for the fact that it would allow an uncoordinated bastard like myself to map numpad buttons to automatically rotate and boost my character in a certain direction with the E-pack equipped (4 is left strafe boost, 6 for right strafe boost, 2 for reverse boost, 8 for forward boost, 5 for downward boost, maybe 0 for upward boost).

But yeah, a practice mod is a must, hopefully it will be implemented swiftly, if not at release. If they put in a targeting laser as part of such a mod, I'd even give the modders a gold dubloon.
