Though i am wondering. While there are now 2 slots, 1 for your pack, 1 for your deployable. Is it possible to sacrifice your pack slot to carry 2 deployables (It would probably encumber you more, but still)?

They've made it pretty clear.. you have a DEPLOYABLE slot and a PACK slot. Not 2 slots for stuff.

You only have 1 deployable slot, therefore only 1 deployable can be carried.

You only have 1 pack slot, therefore only 1 pack can be carried.

']Ok the dev's are fudgeing with me here. The buckler sounds insanly gay and taking out the repair kits I think is dumb, but these packs sound pretty badass.

Dev's keepin me on my toes......I like :roller:I think when you get to play with the buckler you'll love it. I too was a bit put off when I read the initial design doc for it, but now I really like it (I suck with so far, but I like it). It will take me a long time to get good with the buckler, but when I do... :)

Yes. All the packs should have a distinct and audible sound -- so newbies know that the ability is tied to the usage of a pack.

Thrax what happens when "repair juice" is repairing a Gen and then the Gen blows up?

Keeps repairing for it's 10 sec? or stops?

My 2 cents:
The E pack will still make you jet farther and higher because of the better recharge rate. Jetting with any other pack is just like jetting naked i.e you wont go farther and higher. If this is a true statement I think the E-pack will be the main pack used.
Is this a correct statement?

for newbies yeah, most likely. But experienced players know how to find routes which put them into the base very quickly, and in effect fairly negates the absolute importance of the e-pack. However....i am thinking in T2 Classic physics, so there is really no way to tell how screwed u will be (esp in heavy) in t:v if u don't have an e-pack.

I belive it is correct. But alot of positions are not about getting from point A to point B. It's what you do at point B that counts. So, lets say you're a HO and it takes you 20 seconds to run your route with an epack, but you die within 15 seconds upon reaching your destination. Compare that with a HO who runs the same route in 25 seconds with a shieldpack but lasts 30 seconds instead of 15. You gain 5 seonds of travel time in exchange for 15 more seconds of base ownage.

Was mainly talking about Cappers and LD/Chasers but i agree with the HO analogy

But were so many of the "classic" game ideas so out of whack that they needed to be removed or radically changed? "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" comes to mind.Yes, in fact, so many of them were out of whack. Think about the idea of packs in T1 and T2. Some worked like a gun. Some were always on. Some you dropped and fired. Some you could turn on and off. Some weren't really packs, they were deployables, but they kept you from using a pack, etc... That's messed up. Packs now work like packs. deployables like deployables. It was broke, and now it's fixed.

I like the way the designers are putting all this together. It looks like the game will be more competetive and interesting. The gameplay looks more balanced in this one than in previous games.

I assume the speed pack will have no effect when in a vehicle. If you are in a gunner's seat, you won't fire quicker, will you?

Has anyone played around with the speed pack while skiing? You can't get the ski-up-a-hill effect from T1 can you? If you skiied down the slope and then sped (used speed pack) up the other side of the hill, is there any benefit? Or, are you skiing at 300KPH and max walk speed is XXX KPH (guess 50 KPH).

Is the speed of walking different if you are on grass, concrete/metal base or inside a base?
