I can hear it now,

The Energy Pack recharges your suits energy faster, increasing you jetting mobility. When activated it fires a quick burst that accelerates you into the direction your facing.

The Kinetic Pack increases the effectiveness of your suit's leg enhancements, giving you a faster running capability. When activated it allows you fire more than twice as many rounds at your enemies; if you are out of ammo while this pack is active it has an added feature that lets you run like hell while screaming "AAAHHHHHHHH! Get away from me!!". :roller:

Edit: WHOA! A player with the Kinetic Pack activated would have the best chance to kill someone with the lazer knife thing! Nobody thought of that yet?

No never thought about that but you have a good point there havin the pack would be practically the only way I could see you killing someone with the knife otherwise your dead running with that thing and no ammo. :)

I personally don't like the word "node" attached to the Repair Turret, because "node" implies a connection with other nodes, as if to make a string or lattice.

If you wish to replace the "Turret" part of Repair Turret with something, how about "Battery?" (although, it may be confused with a dry cell)

Some more simple names; the Assist Turret or the Support Turret, although I still like my previous suggestion of the Mend(er) Turret. :)

I'd like to stay away from "battery" for much the same reason you'd like to stay away from node.

It implies something in connection with other somethings... such as an artillery tube and a battery of artillery.

I think Repair Spike pretty much covers what it is... A constantly cycling repair pack on a stake.

I agree, "Battery" isn't that great. "Spike" also has an implication of the object being somewhat inactive. I feel that "Turret" is good enough as it is

Buzz pack...ah thats the worst name i ever heard.
"Buzz Pack" rocks. Of the 4 packs available it is the only one not in later titles. Of course it won't matter to anyone new to the franchise but some might wonder why the "Buzz Pack" disappeared...

It started off as a device developed for military use by the Imperial Army. Eventually, as is the case with most military technology, it made its way to the civilian sector. There it reached widespread use in sports, including Ball. After many years it was discovered that long term use of the Buzz Pack caused dementia and their use was banned.

Obviously we have our first sufferer...

QUESTION

the speed pack increases weapons rate of fire too corerct (?). So it would not increase the refire rate of the sniper rifle at all? because that relies on energy correct?

Sounds right Poison spider. But you could waste ammo faster.

Im confused. The epack in tribes 1 and 2 always added energy I thought or lessened the amount of energy required to do things, not just increased regen rates. This was the reason you could fly up to a ledge with an epack, but not without. However, now they are saying the epack will only regen energy faster and not give an increase or reduced usage of the epack. I don't understand

It only ever regenerated faster. You can reach the ledge with an epack because you are of course regenerating while you are jetting, so the net energy loss rate with your jets activated is less than without the epack.

The epack increases the recharge speed of your energy bar. In T1 a Light could recover all its energy in 4-5 seconds with an epack as opposed to 6-7 seconds without one. It amounts to about 15% more energy, but it doesn't physically increase the amount of energy you can have at any one time.
