Yeah mate, bloody Yanks aye. :D Got Haggis? 04-27-2004, 08:55 AM the buckler sounds like the tron disc to me...comes back to you when you throw it....also works as a shield Void|deadjawa 04-27-2004, 12:30 PM Strewth, you sheilas sure know how to yabber on. Like a bunch of bloody galahs, the lot of you. Stone the crows. From my vast knowledge of the restrooms at Outback Steakhouse, I have discerned that you just called all of us girls. Rigel 04-27-2004, 01:40 PM ... something new for Ben Reed I see. :soapbox: Got Haggis? 04-27-2004, 01:41 PM we aren't called yanks, we are called seppo's...get it right please Ben Reed 04-27-2004, 01:55 PM So the Buckler can be thrown, eh? Like Captain America's shield! ...which I always thought was one of the stupider superhero weapons. Oh well. Come to think of it, until more is known about the special properties of the throwing mode of the Buckler, I have to wonder if that particular function will ever be used by any Triber worth his salt. After all, the benefits of throwing the shield had better be something pretty special if one wants to temporarily sacrifice the ability to reflect chaingun slugs and spinfusor discs, the primary scourge of an otherwise healthy player avatar. The projectile reflection still sounds very handy, though, and if it proves powerful enough on offense and defense, it could well cement the medium's status as a viable armor in T:V. Slurp 04-27-2004, 01:55 PM Since the buckler has a knockback force: Will the buckler be able to knock a flag loose from a turtler? Since concussion grenades are out, it would be nice to see a weapon that could knock a flag out, without having to get the kill first. Ben Reed 04-27-2004, 01:56 PM ... something new for Ben Reed I see. :soapbox: Actually, no. I've expressed positive views about many features new to T:V. I am simply very careful to give my skepticism equal footing with my optimism. This is just one of the first threads I've posted where I make the positive tone explicit. Archaic 04-27-2004, 02:35 PM I made some points about something like this awhile ago in this thread.. http://www.tribalwar.com/forums/showthread.php?t=239088&highlight=shield Seemed like some liked the idea I said, others didn't. Meh slayr 04-27-2004, 02:53 PM Yeah, i'm looking forward to seeing how the new buckler is going to be used, and how much damage it will do. I hope it is not designed very powerful damage wise though, because I dont feel like having people jet into me and smack me in the face with it all the time. | ||
