You know, those things look a lot less ugly once you get a look at them from a better angle.

To Thrax and the red-title crew, when you come upon this thread: Are those black boxes on top of the "wings" missile pods like the Pod, or are they just part of the engine apparatus?

looks like they are just part of the jets or something...no function.

but yeah, I agree, they look bad ass from that angle. I thought they looked super gay from that video, but now I like the look a lot.

The gunship scene in that video must have been really old. The new gunship looks much better than the Enterprise version. I like how it has landing gear. Maybe you can ski on the ground. :p

I don't really see how a gunship like that could be useful in CTF. You can only have one person chaining the flag, and all the MD will be carring rocket pods. It will probably be more useful in a C&H or D&D type map.

hopefully you will be able to have a bomber dropping bombs :) That was probaly the only thing I liked from T2.

And I think that the things that people think are missile launchers on the Fighter are actually engine too, but I'm not sure (need somebody to draw a circle around the item they are questioning). In this case, since there are no missiles on board, it's easy.

all i see is two big turrets with 4 barrels. no missle launchers.

Why oh why do developers insist on making engines look like giant salvos?

They always get my hopes for mass destruction up, then fiendishly cast them aside in favor of some pea shooter gun that goes "bew bew bew"

It's fairly obvious to me that they're air intakes to me... with some kind of "screen" over them.

Artistically and realistically I think the screen is odd. You don't want to impede airflow any more than necessary, and a screen does just that. However I can see why they don't have deep intakes on the models. It lowers the poly count by a small but measureable amount.

I dunno about the Pod though, I haven't taken a close enough look at it.
