This shield thing is interesting. How fast is it? Does the path curve? Is it more damaging or concussive when thrown?

I'm trying to imagine why you'd throw it, instead of relying on another weapon.

thats hilarious...

it seems like IG's fixation on comic book characters has had an impact on the weapons in the game.

IE:
Grappling hook=spiderman
Buckler=captain america
Napalm gun=human torch (aka el diablo)

in fact, the imperial skins look a lot like superhero skins to be sure.

The Buckler having a melee attack is great, but the boomerang bit sounds really goofy.. or should I say stupid. Let's see a video of it in action from E3. ;)

Yea, it would be cool to pull shazbot with the grapple... I have a great time using the 'chainswing' function in farcry, and just playing around with the physics.

Imagine you are in the middle of a map
Between your base and the enemies,
Your teammate is skiing rapidly towards the enemy flag stand
As he is about to zoom past you
You grapple onto him steeling his speed and launching yourself in the air
HAHAH suck0rz to be him

I know ill Be doing that once in a while :D

Tribes and Tribes 2 are slow from an acceleration point of view. Run speed is slow, ability to change directions is slow, etc. As I've said before it's the difference between top speed and quickness. Other games have quickness, tribes has only a tremendous top speed. Some of the changes we've made address the lack of quickness.

If you're going fast enough to do damage, the damage would be higher, but it doesn't deal damage other than thru the collision. When you throw it does damage. Currently a lot of damage, but that will be tuned in the beta. You can steer it's trajectory out and back.

:cry:Please do learn to read. Go check my posts, and if it's still not clear ask again. I think I've been fairly clear about how the buckler works, and also how the shield pack works.

Just so i have this correctly: An HO comes in fast, i shoot him with the B., and that knocks him back? Is it a dead stop and he falls to the ground, or is it a shooting back motion in which he still has momentum to escape/attack again?

Second: Does this weapon have the same knocking back force regardless of where u hit them? Vis-a-Vis, could i shoot a teamate in the back with this and give him a huge boost forward?

Buckler: A weapon that is thrown, doing damage to your opponent when it strikes them. While held, it can reduce the damage taken by the holder, and causes additional knock back in player to player collisions.

Shield Pack: A pack that passively shields its wearer from a percentage of his or her normal damage, and actively shields its wearer from a large percentage of his or her normal damage.

Important note for the reading impaired: The buckler is not a pack, the shield pack is not a weapon, the buckler and the shield pack are not the same thing.
