Chadman 04-22-2004, 07:51 AM Hi there
I am curious to know what plans/ideas the dev team has for those among the community who have to observe the games in progress.
I am thinking mainly from a press/shoutcasting point of view.
How are you looking to support those needs? If at all? :)
I casted in europe a lot for t1, and they used the BWadmin mod for the servers. Now I for one, found it handy to be able to observe the flag directly, unlike Ive found in T2 (could be wrong lol) that you could only observe the flag when it was being held by a player.
I liked to pan around the flag, and then you could watch the approach of the capper flying in at high speed, as well as the the mass battles when the flag was dropped.
I had 3 key binds, one for each flag, and a free float mode.
I would be very interested to hear any thoughts that you have on observing T:V.
Thankyou in advance, Dev team.
Regards
Chadman
GIMPbeowulf 04-22-2004, 08:04 AM I think watching the flag in T2 would cause nausea since it gets shot around so much.
Most shoutcasters went and got scripts that would allow them to easily find flag carriers I think.

There's an admin mod that let people do that. I remember watching a T2TV of a euro match where they were using that and the casters made heavy use of it to zoom to dropped flags midfield. They'd jump to the flag, detach and move up a bit so you could see the flag and all the action going on around it. I thought it was a great feature for casters.
Got Haggis? 04-22-2004, 09:52 AM Lets hope that they have thought about this, since I doubt it will be able to be scripted in later due to the limited scripting that will be allowed. But I assume they have indeed thought about it.

KillerONE 04-22-2004, 05:00 PM All I ask for are indicators for Armors, Flags and Bases.. Observing was never easy to follow looking at miscellaneous armors, not knowing who's who are not knowing where the flag dropped to follow the action.
IFF's pls!
(I know it's been said many times over, hope it's part of the T:V plan!!!)
