Windows 3.11 Excel Macro question

At work we have a really old pc for grabbing data from our sound analyzer that is running windows 3.11. I would like to update the PC to something decent with a newer OS, but the biggest obstacle is the fact that there are a few excel macros that are on there that will not run when I use them in Office XP's Excel. Do the macros need completely rewritten or is there some way of converting them without having to get them rewritten?

Did you install scripting or visual basic support in Office XP? Macros from an old Excel should still work.

May be a silly idea, but have you tried using the older version of excel on the newer PC?

I agree that it should work. Back in 95 or so, work swapped our automation software (intellution FIX) on 3.1.1 to Windows NT runing intellution FIX32. And we are still using the same macros from 3.1.1
