File Transfer Problem

whenever i transfer file from F:\ drive to my H:\ drive or other drive
it seems like the cpu usage is at 90% and it totally slow down my computer(happened recently)

F:\ is my slave
H:\ is on maxtor ata133 Card

spec:
WinXP Pro
Athlon 2400+
crucial 512mb

F:\ drive is wd ata100 120gb (partition to around 51gb)
H:\ drive is maxtor ata133 160gb (partition to around 76gb)

plz help!

i will prolly format if i can't find any solution

check to see if DMA mode is enabled. it's in the properties of the ide controller (check both your onboard and the ata133 card) in device manager. (control panel, system, hardware, device manager)

thanks invar.

it's working now, i had to remove my primary ide channel in my device manager
then let it auto-detect, it's back to DMA now ;P
