WinXPPro stuttering now :(

I don't know what else to do. This only started happening this weekend for me. Haven't installed anything new though. Everything from Zero Hour and BF Vietnam, to listening to mp3s, every 10-20 seconds it'll loop a second or two for a few times, then carry on. It's making BFV unplayable for me now. I have Norton Suite, Webroot SpySweeper installed, no P2P programs this time. I'm out of ideas.

^

Just to get a move on things though, if you have WinXP, hit ctrl-alt-del to get to task manager, and then see if something other than System Idle is eating up your processing time.

disable norton and spysweeper and see if it makes any difference. DO NOT UNINSTALL!

Epic: The first thread was alright, but the second one didn't have anything I could use to figure this out.

Invar: That's what I did after posting this. Should've checked it first but it didn't occur to my tired ass at the time. SpySweeper raised to 2% during the stutters, and back to 0% when all was fine.

Fatal Error: after seeing the instances noted above, I disabled SpySweeper and everything seems cool.

I'm emailing WebRoot about SpySweeper to get this shit fixed. Thanks all.
