Omg! Hdd Caput

omg. my desktop started making horrible clicking noises, i opened the case to determine where it was coming from... i narrowed it to floppy or hdd, since shortly after it shutdown. so i figured maybe it overheated or something, and decided to let it sit for a minute or two. tried to boot up in safemode, and i get a BUNCH of errors made up of some stuff, most notably "rdisc" and a bunch of windows directories and files, which i assume means those files/directories arent getting read... can i fix it w/o losing EVERYTHING? HELP?!

if your drive is clicking, you are most likely fucked and shit out of luck.

as a last resort, you could try putting the hd in the freezer for a bit (keep it in a plastic bag and close it up), and then try running it just long enough to back up your files.

otherwise, get a replacement. check the warranty.
