I have an athlon xp 1800 chip in my new Asus A7N8X rev 2.xx mobo. My Epox 8kha+ mobo always reported the speed correctly at 1.5ghz, but this new mobo reports it as 1.14ghz. Is there some way this can be changed? Is it affecting the speed of the chip in any way?

Thanks in advance.

yes, it's affecting it. it's reporting the wrong speed because you have the fsb set incorrectly. what did you do, swap motherboards? to what?

it's affecting the speed you should make some changes in dos bios.

what invar said, the system is set to 100mhz fsb instead of the 133mhz its supposed to be at

it can be changed in bios, hit the del key when u hear the beep on boot

either that or get out the asus manual and check your jumper settings on the board.

i didn't wanna say that until i was sure his motherboard could support 133fsb. maybe he downgraded ;)
