In T2.

I can sort of do it when I'm real close to someone, but I've had people shoot me out of the air when we were real far aprt.

Lead in the direction they are jetting or falling.

Start up a LAN game, and then to find something small like a tree branch or other piece of crap. Now, ski past it, jump up and down near it, and just generally throw discs at that one spot while moving around it. Make the shots DIFFICULT. This'll teach you to aim ahead against stationary targets.

Once you have that, you're only a step away from hitting moving targets. Go join a classic LAKRabbit server (this is T2 after all) and start playing until you can MA people consistently.

Real far apart is a combination of luck and skill. The second you fire, there's no way to know for sure the target isn't going to strafe right/left or jet back up.

Hitting MA's is just like hitting regular shots.. taking into account your momentum/trajectory and "leading" your target.

I've been playing for years, and only hit 1 or 2 long MA's a week. I can pretty regularly get close MA's ( < 20m).

observation is the key. Different players move differently but there is a pattern to everyone, that is why you can usually get more MAs against teammates or people you play against often, because you have learned the minutia of thier movements.

Duel a couple very good players and you will see that as the rounds progress they know where you are going before you do.

1. stand on a hill near your flag and look stupid
2. let the enemy capper grab and run atleast 100m away from you

Not really, considering the disc inherits your momentum. If you're jetting, you can match your targets speed. If you and the target have the same velocity vectors, you only need to lead them enough to account for lag. You're probably subconsciously speed-matching them.

Slightly off topic:

The best way to avoid getting MA-ed? Kill them first. The second best? Maintain a constant perpendicular movement in a large circle around the attacker. Its more difficult to hit a target that is both constantly moving and is not manitaining the same angle for long amounts of time. Works wonders with snipers too.

The way I learned to MA better was to play an hour of T2 arena while recording. Then watch it and try to find my mistakes.

I quickly found that my biggest problem was not leading enough. Although in some cirumstances I was leading too much.

After watching your self play enough you begin to recognize similar situations and can correct for you mistakes.

minus this, i was very proud that everyone offered advice and not OMG NEWB

back on topic:
there is an MA trainer practice mod. I'll be damned if i can remember the name of it or where to get it, maybe someone here will know. basically it gives you endless waves of moving targets, you've got 3 levels of speed that you can work with. doesnt replace good lak rabbit practice, but can be great in getting the basics down.

play A LOT of LakRabbit if u really wanna get good with MAs, dont use any other weapon other than disc.
