I suck at Tribes. Or rather Tribes 2.

I'm playing some Ice 2 map that's not really ice, gametype CTF. As soon as I enter, our team's base is already pretty messed up. There's a platform at the center of the map, where a couple of heavies are stationed by some invs, lobbying mortars down from below into our base.

People keep running in to repair the gens, but it doesn't really matter because they just kept going down again. A couple of people tried to climb up to the platforms, but they were either taken out by cloaked sl, or taken out by the heavies.

The end.

I was farming on JC and was knocked down the side of the base. I couldn't get back up to the base even with a disc jump. I felt like such a newb

I've killed more friendly cappers than I ever have enemy cappers, at least on base pubs.

I've also eaten beautiful MAs from people who otherwise couldn't hit their own feet with a disc launcher.

But ask anyone who's ever played with me where my true talents lie, and you will learn that no one builds a better Renegades Zen garden, no one puts on a better midfield laser Floyd show, and no one caps better wearing a Renegades deployable tree than yours truly.

the million times on any map you're up 7-0 and end up losing

Also, the one time where I tried my best at killing enemies on Hill_King but always ended up slaughtering my teammates.

I was always pretty notorious for messing up the easiest of routes.

But sometimes that works out for the best and you cap it anyways, ala clam.

Does PS2 Tribes count?

Flying the transport with my bud as a heavy with an ammo pack riding gunner. Blasting the enemies base.

Completley noobish but painfully effective.

As far as I'm concerned, my boy, you're one of us -- so long as you aren't an idiot, mind you.

Katabatic, down by 1, final 30 seconds of an intensely-fought map. Our capper drops the enemy flag in the valley between the enemy tower and our base. I pick it up, though 3 other teammates were there as well. I go to backward disk jump over the mountains, but I somehow screw it up by 90 degrees and disk jump back out into the middle of the map. I'm promptly killed, the flag is returned and we lose. :(

Im curious how much easier the game is with a mouse. Those PS2 analog joysticks are laughable when trying to snipe/disk.

Erm bb'd my capper (accidenty) and then shot him (another accident.. I swear ;) ) 2 feet from the flag. In the same game I was passing a flag to someone a 100 feet up, newb flies up a hill (not even trying to return the flag) and returns it. :|

The game is insanely easier with a mouse. You can aim easily while flying in the air, you can whip around as fast as lightning to survey your surroundings or fight your enemies, and shot leading is a whole lot easier.
