I REALLY like tribes 2.
I'm writing to ask a few things
But first let me say i never played tribes 1 , and becuz T:V is meant to be so much like tribes 1 not 2 , i thought i better try and play T1. :)
So ...
1.Is tribes 1 available to download, free of any website.PLZ no warez, a full legitamate copy and all. My favourite PC magazine PCPowerplay (an aussie pc game mad which i buy, living in australia amd all) gave it away on a cover disc but i never got that issue. So duz anyone have a link? (remember legitamate)
2.What is your oppinion of Tribes 2? Iv'e heard a lot of people which all dis it because of its quick , and dogy release. But i only bought it when it was re-released and fell in love with it. I wanna know what u think of Tribes 2 , AS IT IS KNOW.

In all fairness, it's not that I thought Tribes 2 was a bad game, if you look past the bugs. It just wasn't what I felt a sequel to Tribes should have been. If Tribes was the love of my life.. Tribes 2 was the drunk driver who broadsided her.

T2 Classic > T1

you're an idiot. nothing can compare to Tribes' speed and versatility, not even Classic. Tribes was a fluke and nothing will ever come close to it. I hope T:V does a good job trying though

2. T2 would not have been a horrible game if it was released as a stand-alone game (not a sequel) under any other name. But because T2 was the successor to T1, T2 sucked (i.e., T1 was the apotheosis of fun online FPS gaming, T2 was wholly unworthy to be its successor).

I don't help people who type their posts with an ungodly amount of incoherence. It gives off the impression that that person is an idiot (Kirby, for example). Run your posts through MS Word or a spell/grammar checker and when your posts are in English maybe I can help you.

Stop crying, you baby. I thought all you Aussie people were hardened ex-convicts who can kill freshies and whole packs of dingoes with their bare hands while out waltzing Matilda beneath the coolibah trees.

As for T2, most of the people here at TW don't like it because this place is a watering hole for most of the hardcore T1 competitive tribes, who enjoyed and used to great effect unexpected accidents such as high-speed skiing and mine-discing. People didn't like the slowed-down, defense-heavy feel of T2, which forced teamwork on the controlled anarchy of public servers and lended great power to turtling in competitive contexts.

Myself, I would have liked T2 despite the slowed-down feel (I was never any good at high-speed Tribes play, I rather enjoyed T2's leisurely pace), if it weren't for the problem that REALLY turned a lot of people off to T2 -- namely, its extremely messy and buggy initial release. Hell, I still get crappy framerate outdoors on T2, and I'm running on a 2-odd gHz processor with an ATI Radeon 7800 (or whatever the number was, I wasn't the guy playing with the inside bits) and quite a sufficient amount of RAM.

Also, bear in mind that the bulk of TW's membership is American, although the Euros and the Aussies tend to show themselves a bit more prominently out here in Tribes Talk.

I can finally understand what makes the more hardcore T1 players at least hate T2. :P
