Knife (not grappling hook) found!

So, can we expect anymore updates before E3?

If I run out of ammo and can still kill the AI with a knife that requires 10 hits... I'll be disappointed in the AI of Vengeance. I fully understand the need for a back up weapon in SP. I play SP because I like being told a story, when games drone to a halt because I can nolonger pass a level and continue the story or I have to relive a large portion of the story over and over again, I lose intrest in the game. Its like reading a great novel only Chapter 4 is written in another language or I am forced to re-read chapters 2 and 3 all over again. So I understand a need for a last resort, but a last resort that is impropable is nothing at all. If I run out of ammo and the odds of actually succeeding with a knife (I mean this is Tribes afterall) are astronomical then really, what option have you given me?

In SP it should have a decent chance against the AI, like if oyu sneak up on them it'll insta-kill a Bot. In MP you may as well just not even bother it... or better yet, it should shoot a Green range finding laser! ;)

Rest assured I will be abusing this weapon until it is more broken than the shocklance.

Come to think of it, if this is any indication, I'll probably end up getting a targeting laser as well.

I woulder how the heavies would be able to swing their hugh metal arms fast enough to use this weapon.

Anyway The left hands I see with the screenshots of the heavies are empty. Why not house the blade there to make heavies look more coolish?
Or house a targetting laser there!

I wondered the same thing. If I had a choice, I'd rather b!tch-slap someone with my free arm, then mount a damn knife and try to slice them...

It'd be nice if the blade was for light and medium, while the heavy could use his left arm instead.

i don't know what idiot said it...but the targeting laser should NOT DO ANY DAMAGE! Why do you think it's called a targeting laser? The knife is a good idea considering the environments that i've seen tribes placed in. Makes sense to me seeing as how there are cityscapes and such. I also like the idea of throwing it for more damage.

The only good I can see coming of this weapon is when my enemies use it in MP.

EXAMPLE

I am skiing around in light armor and meet another light; we start dueling. I use the chain gun and throw grenades till I run out of ammo (but I still have the spinfusor), pull out the knife and because of my superior evading skills I dodge everything that my opponent can throw at me save for a single disk and a few CG bullets. I am down to 1/4 my life. My opponent sees that I could be killed with the knife and that he is out of ammo, and thinks that I am out too. He speeds at me, knife in hand. I jet and switch to the spinfusor and mid air the guy.

I think you should be able to hold them down and just saw their head off with the blade. Is that TOO much to ask????

Why would this need an alt fire? If the weapon has ammo, then fire button shoots it, if it doesn't then you swing it to deal damage.

why don't you make the knife shoot a continuous beam that does damage over time.

then you'll have yourself a targeting laser (well, the useful part of one, as a laser pointer)

i guess if the projectile shots are frequent enuf it might work too..
