I really dont liek the idea of having an extra melee weapon that doesnt take up a weapon slot in any tribes game.

no tribes game should have that in MP. reminds me too much of halflife and quake. (just keep it out of MP, ok? vgt)

Seems like a good weapon for MP in my eyes. Hell, considering its not even as powerful as a Tribes 1 blaster, it seem like more of a novelty than a serious threat to gameplay anyway. And it will make dueling more interesting.

Knife is cool.

Armor assisted punches/kicks, would also be cool ;)

Well yes, it should be pretty weak, but not weak as hell.

Each hit should hurt as much as a chaingun bullet.

Melee? sweet, hofing just became a lot more fun.

It'll be funny going "HOLD ON! I WANNA KINFE!" then pull out your chaingun and blast them away.. good times..

I like the idea myself, it's not an instant-kill weapon like the SL is from behind, it's weak, it's pitiful, but it's always there if I need it.

We won't know how it works out until it's actually in use, but i can see using it in conjunction with a body block to score at least a little bit of damage when we collide.

Makes me wonder if the damage might vary with the type of armor you'er attacking. For example the light is mostly a suit of body armor with an attached jetpack unit, so the EB might do more damage against them than, say, a medium which has real armor, or a heavy which the EB might just scratch the paint job and not much else.

But I agree the humiliation factor is worth it alone, like.

"Zoolooman really sticks it to noobieplayer." or "Zoolooman goes Jack the Ripper on noobieplayer."

I actually agree with poison spider. 3 or 4 hits. Since it'll be hilariously short range, I doubt we'll see *that* much abuse.

if you get a clean shot to the back of the neck (dead on) i think it should be instakill (or like 80-90% health). what you guys think?

actually, i change my mind, i want a low power (light damage) targeting laser. then if you have like 3 lights with no weapons vs a heavy you could all fry him (but 3 lights running up and knifing him to death is pretty cool too)
