Knife (not grappling hook) found!

Can you throw it like the knife in SoF2? Melee would be interesting but not too usefull though. It is a good addition IMO.I'm against it in general, but in SP you need a default weapon that is always available and doesn't take up a slot. The knife will fill that position. Because it's always there, it can't be too powerful, so we'll make it as painfully wimpy as possible while still serving it's limited use.

just make sure it kills a heavy if you stab him in the back

When will developers learn that whenever they say something like that, they're quickly proven wrong by some guy who dominates a map with a weapon that's supposed to be not very useful.The fact that it will take about 10 shots in the head to kill a light may limit it's usefulness. I could be wrong tho. Perhaps it will be the killer tool of all time. :shrug:

The need for a grappling hook in a world where EVERYONE CAN FLY!!! seems pretty silly to me.

I still want it in the multiplayer game. Finishing people with the knife, in mid-air, will be a definite major e-penis++ trick.

Thrax, you should put in something funny to go along with a kill from the Energy Blade. Something similar to the HUMILIATION sound effect from Quake3 when someone gets melee'd, or at the very least a really embarassing kill text message.

Flatscan - Three reasons.

1. In Single Player, there must be a "fallback" available to players at all times, or the game can stagnate when the player runs out of EVERYTHING. This knife, while weak, is a fallback.

2. In Multi Player, there should be everything available in single player.

3. When you actually kill someone with the knife, won't you feel great for shaming them so thoroughly?

From what I've ready they dont intend for the blaster to suck, so they need a weak weapon that you cant run out of ammo with.
