So my System process keeps using about 25-30% of my cpu on and off about every second. I downloaded Process Explorer as a suggestion from someone on #tech. This is what i get.

http://www.patmedia.net/jimterk/blah1.JPG - Process branch from system process

http://www.patmedia.net/jimterk/blah2.JPG - My performance after like minutes of doing NOTHING.

I tried killing non system processes like my ATi schedule things, creative sound card junk, no effect. I turned off Norton Auto Protect, no effect. Norton also found no viruses.

I also ran updated Spybot and Adaware, they found nothing.

Norton is up to date.

UPDATE: Process explorer is showin me this, looks like threads within my system process are constantly being accessed and closed? idk wtf are these threads though. ntoskrnl.exe i know is the bootup scrn thingy.

UPDATE2: In safe mode, my system process is fine.
But when i go back to normal, its fucked up again.

UPDATE3: Fixed, someone should go tell HP to stop making printer drivers that act like viruses. Some printer .sys file attached to my system process was trying to access something around 15 times a second and kept failing. Its pretty sad that one must go through the threads in his system process to find that out. Anyway, my advice: stay away from HP printer drivers.

what a nightmare.
