For a long time I always wondered why the hell rich people created their own foundations for charity rather than giving to already established non-profits. Now I know and I would do the same thing if I were in that position.

I really want to contribute to collossus getting laid though, i will donate for that, but i want the money to REALLY go to him getting laid, NOTHING else.

If there was a way that it could be shown that this money really gets him laid, i will HAPPILY donate.

We didn't ask for money back in the day because we had people that would host us for free and give us servers to run the site on. Now we gotta have our own servers. Col already apoligized for not telling people he was getting the laptop.

And I know that dishonesty is rampant as I mentioned in my example of the Red Cross on 9/11. That is why I refuse to give to them. I just can't.

That's sad. People gave so much money that all of it wasn't needed. Why should they just throw that money away on 9/11 people if it isn't needed, and could be used for the many many other places where the red cross helps people? That whole thing was sad.

Laptop was $1300. $569 of that was paid for by TW. The laptop was used to bring you the press conference coverage from San Fran since we couldn't lug a huge computer and a monitor, keyboard, mouse, et al to the press conference to cast it.

I think Col was cool about it, he isnt one to run from anything. While I think WOFN is a fucking joke and people will get the info other way if it isnt there...its good for shout casting...the other shit is god awful or redundant...he used most of the money for what it was meant for and used the extra for the other shit...I would have rather seen it used more on TW stuff but no biggie...I contributed because with all its faults, its a great place to gather and bicker...so donating to TW is a good cause IMO.

Sorry I don't get it. Bounty admitted to some sort of dishonesty? I've seen all your responses and all I see is reasons not to give money to charities such as the American Red Cross because they might use the money for something other than what you intended to give for (even though you never gave in the first place). Nor would you give to any charitable organization that dishonestly pays an electic bill or pays thier employees a minimal wage or invests in other money making stratagies.

Sorry man but those are the facts of real life and if everyone embraced this attitude we'd be putting out 50% of everyone's income for taxes to support disaster relief, there would be no churchs, private schools, soup kitchens, or policemen's balls.

A contribution to TW shows that you want to be a member. It keeps Imposter looking for Bandwidth whenever we get kicked out of whatever present bandwidth we're on. It keeps the lights on and the guys who do all the work feeling like they're doing their job for a reason. It keeps Colosus working on a way to allow the sort of thing that goes on here. TW is Colosus at this point and Colosus is TW. I'll eat anyone's shit that can prove to me that there's anything above 10% of the content of Colosus' Laptop that is not TW related.

I strongly advise anyone unhappy with Colosus decisions to start their own Community in protest....the same way TW got it's start. We need as many diverse communities as we can get for Tribes players. I hate to see people leave with an attitude but it's better than having such unhappy people around here.

i believe that people capable of setting up a website this elaborate and a shoutcasting network that supports 800 somethin listeners could have prob. found a much better method of asking permission to use other peoples money. i serioulsy doubt many if any people would be complaining if col had atleast made announcement about this before fraggle did!
