[THE]Perrin 02-22-2004, 11:47 PM ']Hmm..thought I had his fathers tone down. Anyone else feel the same?
It's a bit grey, but it still looks better than maxx's, that looks like it did orginally, which was way too pink.
Other than that, it's pretty damn amazing. Could have some more little tweaks, like the lapels, etc. But still looks awesome.
Fuckin' great job man.
ICFire 02-22-2004, 11:51 PM Don't know if you can do anything about the shadows on the face, wouldn't have those in that type of photo.
I also think VV left foot is in the wrong place. (our right)

Thx man. Yeah, he is kinda grey, but in his portrait shot he is a bit on the grey/light skinned side. Tried to stay a little consistant with that. Tweaking continues, keep the crits comin. Lets get this thing polished up.
Diablo Escobar 02-22-2004, 11:53 PM heck, i like maxx's better, and thats a rarity.
Give the older gentleman a little more color, he needs it
HomeSlice 02-22-2004, 11:53 PM Do you think it is in bad taste to add the TW Watermark?
lecatPuke 02-22-2004, 11:56 PM If anything, coordinate VV's GF's facial tones with his hand. Also, maybe consider any shadowing his GF would have have on VV? Very nice job, absolutely astounding.

If you mean the shadows on the fathers face, not a great deal unless I reconstruct that part of his face. Easier just to add shadow to VV and his sons face to match the lighting direction on his fathers.
As far as the feet, not sure what you mean. You think its too far over to the left? Was going for a leisurely stance with most of his weight on his right foot.
Might have been addressed, but the hands dont match the face color
Oh Heck[Inq] 02-23-2004, 12:04 AM k, seems you folks are in agreement on the skin tone, so i'll update that. I'll also play with a soft shadow on VV from his GF.
As for the TW watermark..normally I would say sure, but this is going to be printed out as a gift for his son. I'll work the TW logo into the picture in such a way that it is not noticeable(maybe in the carpet). Thats really up to VV though..

i dont think its a good call
MaxxCarnage 02-23-2004, 12:20 AM I say make one version to be sent privately to VV then another watermarked one for public hosting.
Diablo Escobar 02-23-2004, 12:25 AM isn't there a way to like "digitally sign" shit like this, without making a visible watermark?
i can see the point of trying to make sure that this is properly identified to those who worked on it, but there really is no need to foul up this picture with a tw logo, no matter how subliminal it is.
I hav eto think Viet Vet can be trusted, and that the pic has no real worth beyond his personal use, so there isn't a great amount of theft potential.
DwarfVader 02-23-2004, 09:01 AM No TW logo.... A respect issue.
I mean for the sake of posterity, when we get the 2nd picture completed and I do the morph from Finished Pic-1 to Finished Pic-2, I think there would be a decent place for a water mark because the morph is kinda a double construct to show the powers of TW when called upon by those that fill its boards by those that fill its boards....
However, this is obviously up to VV, and either way I still want a shot at the project because I think it would be really neat as a finished result. I'll see what I can do for the coloration of his face in the photo above, in my earlier attempt I was able to bring some color but I was unable to put him into the picture like I wanted to do. Oh Heck has done a great job of pulling this off, I'll see if I can do the same thing color wise that I did to the last one. (without making his face look orange like I did on my first attempt.)
Jazmine 02-23-2004, 09:59 AM Great job Oh Heck!
SirPsycho 02-23-2004, 10:38 AM I think the right side of VV's suit needs to be raised some.. Right now the suit is at an angle which is throwing everything off a little..
The grandfathers face is fine. It doesn't have that smoothed out look the others do but you're not going to find that with older folks..
Another thing to consider is taking out that dent in the suit on the right arm of VV...
PinAction 02-23-2004, 11:05 AM I tried adjusting the color a little..although, its hard to do, since it will look differently on your screen, than mine :/ I think their skin tones match a little better now though.Also..I work in a photo studio..and I can probably hook you up with a few prints (8x10 or smaller), when you get a finished product that you're happy with. Just let me know :-p

Viet_Vet 02-23-2004, 11:48 AM Any update on if we will be getting the whole story?
Yes, the whole story is forthcoming. I heard from my son this morning, and he consented. I just have to talk to HTS before I release the story.
As for the TW watermark, I think you should all get credit for this. Many of the pics that studios take put their logo in the bottom right hand corner. I feel TW deserves the credit for this. Just don;t make the logo so big that it takes away from the pic :)

D-Sect 02-23-2004, 01:36 PM I think that this is so awesome. Great work to all and it's just great that you guys can do something like this that means so much to someone.
piotrr 02-23-2004, 01:45 PM VV, is your dad's eye color about right? The original photo was slightly sepia-toned with age, or photo quality, so could you give any hints there?
