I used search and found how to set the value to 0... but it didnt work

I had it set up before but I did a clean install, and although Im no longer a chain whore, when I need it I would like to be able to go head to head with a chainer.

do I have to do anything other than adding

$net::interpolatetime=0;

to my autoexec.cs file?

you also have to add

$pref::PacketFrame = "512";

to get it working

This is something most players overlook. While not necessary to turn of interpolation, it increases it's effectiveness three-fold.

without getting into internet mumbo jumbo, it makes the chain gun far more acurate.

The dictionary defines interpolation as "To make insertions or additions." This is exactly what interpolation does. Tribes by default has interpolation set to '64,' this means Tribes will predict where a player will be 64 milliseconds from his current position based on his speed, direction, etc. This makes the players movement look smooth and fluid. When setting this to '0' you are turning off interpolation, which makes Tribes show you the exact location of the player. This allows for more accurate firing, but players tend to "jump" around the screen a lot more.

Err, it actually gives you a more accurate representation of where other players really are. Turning off interpolation means that your computer does not guess (interpolate) where the players will be at a specific time, and instead gives you only player positions that it "knows" to be true. The downside to turning off interpolation is that player motions may seem a bit more choppy, since your computer does not attempt to guess the "in between" player positions.
