I would prefer to leave remakes to the community and have the game ship with completely new maps that are tailored to the gameplay of T:V.

What I'd really like to see is for the T:V map makers leave a little inspiration to the map making community.

I'm sure there must me a couple good map ideas and even actually game resources that just won't make it in to the game. Why not include there resources in the game so the map makers can make some client side maps with *new* stuff in it.

well, fine. You wont enjoy it, but I still will. I suppose as long as theres 20 people that enjoy it, it will get made. The t1 remakes are the best maps t2 has ever seen, so I guess Im still jaded when I think about 'new' maps for a tribes game.

Fair enough. :) I'm sure it will be made, and depending on how it turns out I may or may not enjoy it in T:V. I just don't want to see the Dev team use their time, which I consider valuable, to remake the map.

It would be time well spent.

Those maps are in those Tribes games. Tribes: Vengeance should have it's own maps (I don't want any "official" old maps).

Actually, if someone DOES remake the maps, as Thrax and a ton of people have said, I want to see the maps as they were 400 years before Tribes 1. I want to see Archipelago before the massive flooding. I want to see Rain Dance when that river still flowed. I want to see DX when those two canyons were full of water (why else would the bridge be there?). I REALLY wanna see Desert of Death before it was a desert, and a non-barren wasteland Roller Coaster.

I don't want to compete on these maps, but it'd be cool to see.

I totaly agree. I think I'm gonna give maping a shot in T:V. I got a bunch of ideas for maps. I tryed maping in T2 but I never got anything done.

I'm pretty sure they will be in T:V. Theres a couple of older T:V Screens with a flying base in them.

I'm pretty sure some people in STG (including me) will remake some maps, no idea on 100% confirmation, but I know we've been talking about it... Nef needs to learn 3dsmax though :P

You can make maps that honor the spirit of past maps... they don't have to be exactly the same. Hell, the T1 to T2 ports play nothing like they originally did. It's probably easier to mimic gameplay if you don't try to make the maps the same, in fact.

If peeps are porting maps, damnation is definatly a must (the only real good map that shipped with t2).

WTH is with people liking Broadside (and it's numerous decendants). The're only the ugliest maps to cap on ever devised...

They're fair for pubs, and unskilled pubs at that... thats about it. They're horrendous to defend or assault, and almost impossible to cap on reliably.

Broadside/Blastside... ick...

They're horrible to cap on NOW

Note that they said in the EARLY days of Tribes 1. before everyone was going Mach 3 zillion.

Hell, I remember being happy I got the base-to-base jump off without a lightarmor. Broadside is also what got me good at side-stepping HoFs(while still nabbing the flag)..a skill I lost in my year off of tribes :(

Besides, while they may be horrible bases to cap on, I loved the melees you'd get in center field and all over the bases on those.

No.

I don't want to see old maps in the game that really pinpoint how different T:V is to Tribes. I want to see new maps that take advantage of the new changes, and are made specifically for the new game.Amen.

you guys forget that KP has already made a tool that can convert/import/whatever T1 maps terrains? :)
