I dont understand why you people are happy with them.
the controls are awkward and anti-intuitive.

Sir Lucius 02-17-2004, 02:36 AM The free camera is nice. [57th]cneal 02-17-2004, 02:38 AM I agree. Play XMP :thumbs up: Krytoss 02-17-2004, 01:31 PM i like the ground vehicle control but the air control is like you said, awkward and not very intuitive. Ben Reed 02-17-2004, 01:57 PM The air control is pretty bad (especially on the Raptor), but I think the control for the ground vehicles like the tank and the Hellbender works pretty damn well...easy to do everything from fast turns to strafing runs. GIMPbeowulf 02-17-2004, 04:09 PM Only one that didn't frustrate me was the hover douhickie, didn't get to try the go-cart thing with the whatchamacallits that come out of the side. (yes douhickie and whatchamacallit are technical terms) Data 02-17-2004, 04:19 PM This is Tribes Talk, not UT2K4 Talk. :twak: LostAngel 02-17-2004, 04:19 PM How the hell do you get the raptor to fly "up"? Somehow I always manage to get myself way the fuck up in the sky, and I either can't get down, or when I start out, I can't figure out how to get "way the fuck" up there. LostAngel 02-17-2004, 04:19 PM This is Tribes Talk, not UT2K4 Talk. :twak: Always raining on the party eh data? :P LoVer 02-17-2004, 04:36 PM How the hell do you get the raptor to fly "up"? It's because the altitude is controlled with space/c rather than by the pitch of the nose of the vehicle. For the love of all things good, plz do not make the T:V vehicles gain/lose altitude independent of the nose angle. Palapeli 02-17-2004, 04:52 PM ut2k4 vehicles are so uber arcade, that aint good thing. GIMPbeowulf 02-17-2004, 05:11 PM The hover thing does rock tho, not real good at killing things (still not too bad) but it's fast as hell and thus great for getting to power nodes. Ixiterra 02-17-2004, 05:25 PM It's because the altitude is controlled with space/c rather than by the pitch of the nose of the vehicle. For the love of all things good, plz do not make the T:V vehicles gain/lose altitude independent of the nose angle. Well you gotta remember this is UT and everything has to be made skilless. The raptor works that way so that it is significantly easier to shoot people on the ground while moving. And the default controls are ctrl for up, and c for down. [57th]cneal 02-17-2004, 05:56 PM ctrl and shift Rigel 02-17-2004, 06:22 PM Space and C Ixiterra 02-17-2004, 06:26 PM It's ctrl and c goddamnit. :) Data 02-17-2004, 08:51 PM Always raining on the party eh data? :P Duh. PyroTeknik 02-17-2004, 09:39 PM The ground vehicle controls are great. I love doing those 180 turns or knocking people over with a well placed slide :o Void|deadjawa 02-17-2004, 10:57 PM I think the UT vehicles are terriffic. Especially the manta. I really like how they balanced the roadkill problem by making it skill based with the fan downdraft. The tank and the hellbender are also very sweet. The one person buggy kinda sucks because its fragile, has no means of defense, and its weapon makes no sense at all other than being a physics show off weapon. Dont like the raptor though...mostly because it is missle bait. The one thing I think T:V can take from UT vehicles is that all of the vehicles should have some sort of killing ability. Its clear that transports sort of go against the point of action games, so no HPC plz :\. -Striker- 02-17-2004, 11:03 PM Especially the manta.
