Nobody is serious.
If by chance they are serious, then it's likely that they're too stupid to be taken seriously.
When it says NWS, it's really NWS.
If a link looks too good to be true, it probably is. Wait 5 minutes for the "It's a trap!" replies or you could do serious mental harm to yourself.
Even if you just finished creating the site, it's OFN, so don't bother.
Don't post. Spend a week before you post, and then don't post until page 3.

These simple guidelines can make your introduction to GD easier, but not much.

Things to remember about GD:

- Everyone is an idiot except for me.

- I make it a point to be ambiguous in many threads as to whether I am joking or serious. Even if you have no clue how serious I'm being, just smile and agree with me and all will be well. If you disagree, be you friend or be you foe I will gut you like a fish and make your bones into jewelry as a warning to all who oppose me.

- MoFo's jokes are pretty damn awful, but gouge out your eyes if you have the misfortune to experience Lucius's attempts at "What do you get" or "What do you call" jokes.

- orbital is always trolling, and if you learn to accept that at face value, he's actually pretty damn entertaining. Remember that if you get mad at him and flame him loudly, you are playing into his hands and giving me (and probably him) not insight or illumination, but merely a jolly good laugh. Encourage him. Let him infuriate people. By the reaction of those foolish enough to reply to him, you will learn the uttermost truth about who on Tribal War is a fool and who is a god among insects.

- LogRoller is the master of storytelling. Well, besides me, but I've never finished any of my wonderful MS Paint epics, so people don't know the full extent of my talent.

- If you go looking for sympathy, from the majority of posters, you're not going to get it. If you have fans, you'll probably galvanize vocal support, but that only comes after a decent year or so of experience and quality posting.

- Civility and good grammatical organization will take you surprisingly far. Don't talk like an idiot and you will earn respect quickly, particularly from superior beings like myself.

- Take your licks and learn from them. Don't cry. Suck it up. Get back on your feet, maintain your composure in the face of massive public assault, and you will scare the SHIT out of the rabble. Keep a poker face and carry yourself with dignity and people will throw themselves into the mud to lick your boots.

THAT'S what it means to be king in GD, people. Remember my words and you will go far. With luck, you will soon be able to count yourself as a Disciple of Ben, a shining example for the entire Tribal Warrian race.
