Discussion: Tribes controls and the learning curve.

Does the keyboard layout affect the learning curve in tribes? What do you think?

I think if you rotate your keyboard 90 or 180 degrees it's harder to ski.

I've used a similar key layout for years... ever since Doom and W3D

A Reverse
S Strafe Left
D Strafe Right
Space Jump
Right click Forward.
Left click Shoot.

Everything else gets tacked onto that. Learning a "new" key layout for a game isn't as hard when you have a basic movement pattern. I just have to spend more time in the options screen changing stuff than someone who's used WASD their entire gaming life does.
