TV should have software rendering

I just think it's a good idea overall because if someone can't run it because their computer is too shitty they can always run it in software mode. That way you don't end up cutting out large portions of the market who have shitty computers.

If you edit out the part that says "UT2K4 has it." I think you "might" get an "ok" response... :o

Maybe Half-life 2 will have it also.

Software rendering requires a mighty CPU unless you turn off all the graphics options.

Software rendering is retarded and there is no logical reason whatsoever that UT2k4 still supports it. It gets much worse FPS than d3d or ogl, and it obviously looks horrific. The devs shouldn't waste one ounce of time on it. If you don't have a 3d capable card, get with the new millennium.

From what I can tell most consumers that would play games nowadays will atleast have a very weak 3d card, which is better than software in almost any situation. Anyone who wouldn't have a video card capable of running the game DEFINATELY wouldn't have a system capable of running it at anything playable in software.

Wonder if my S3 Virge decelerator can handle it?

Tribes: Vengeance will not have a software renderer.

nearly every pos computer these days has a 3d capable card... theres no point in supporting software renderers. if you can shell out 50$ for a game, you can shell out the 50$ for a geforce4 mx
