[T:V] Tourney mode and overtime

Arguments for both sides. I personally prefer the fresh start method, but I can see, understand, and support arguments for both sides.

The only real argument I can think of that would really support not giving them the fresh start is that you might have earned an advantage in the game, and it could take it away. Other than that, I think a fresh start would be ideal.

I prefer the fresh start. If the game is going to hinge on a golden goal concept the teams should start on an equal footing. That's the only way to really determine who deserves to wint he map if after 30 minutes (or however long) the game is tied.
