Tribes 2 and clans; how do they work?

Hello again. I was wondering if anyone could explain clans in detail. I don't quite understand the system. If you're not part of a clan can you still play online?

Yes... you just dont have a large hidiously ugly yellow clan tag infront of your name. When your online, if you go into the chat, talk to people etc. You will (not may) get invited into a clan full of noobies =D

anyone can play online. When your in a clan, we call them tribes ;) you get to wear your team's tag, signifying you are with the team. I suppose certain tags immediately garner respect in the community, likewise, some do not. There are many different types of clans. to answer your question though... its simply a way of recogonizing people. A way to feel apart I suppose.

Most "serious" (moderately-to-highly competitive) clans will require you to prove your talent before they let you join (usually through demos of you holding your own against players of decent skill).

Most "fun" clans will take pretty much anybody (although in the case of the Disciples of Ben, I ended up with two pretty damn good players and one highly decent player in addition to the random misfits I rounded up).

Lol, thats what I was thinking. why arn't they flaming him?! Not that he deserves it but thats usualy what happens in threads like this.

this is tribes talk. people that flame in here for talking about tribes are usually pretty lonely.

edit: unless members have proven themselves utterly devoid of intellect by repeatedly asking stupid questions/questions that have been answered in a thread 2 lines under their new one. They get flamed without remorse.

Thats exactly why I post in tribes talk...lol. I want to talk tribes and talk it with minimal flaming :p
