Floating Bases

Is there still going to be several maps with floating bases in multiplayer? I'm asking this because it wasnt shown or even mentioned at all in the conference. I really hope they have several maps with floating bases because this is almost as essential to Tribes as having the disc launcher.

considering that the very first screenshot released of T:V was a floating base.....

I believe it would be more convincing if the last screenshot released was a floating base...not one released early on in the development process.

Oh, chk out the press kit from a while back. It has concept art of an imp starship. That's like a flaoting base too.

Tribes 2 had floating bases. They may not have been in the mainstream maps but there are stock T2 maps with floating bases along with many custom maps that use floating bases. I am really hoping that the map in the first pic released will be included in Vengeance when it is released.

The screen that seemed to be a T:V floating base I saw looked damn cool.

I remember in tribes 1 the very first baby steps I took where on broadside. :) :) :)

Trying to fly up on each one of those floating steps was a chore but fucking cool. I was like, wow this is crazy this is epic and funky. I was hooked from that very point.

There were no t2 floating bases except when they remade broadside and scarabrae but for some reason, t2 was a little funky for them.

T2 compared to t1 in this aspect was plainly different. (Yep I'm comparing) I certainly got a sense of larger scale in t1 one than I did in t2. It's unmistakable.

yea, now that I think far back enough, there's a zillion custom maps out there and some were indeed floating bases. They were only played on newbie servers for a brief time like, 5 assed monkey servers.

Well I never played any of the custom maps in T2. I played it when it first came out for about 2 weeks and stopped. So hopefully T:V wont need any custom maps with floating bases bc they wont be as good as the T1 ones were.

that might be why. I can think of at least 2 maps off the top of my head that came with T2 that have floating bases but one is a DM map the other is a Siege map. I know there are more than just those.

I don't think floating bases would fit into the whole prequel thing.
