It sounds like a lot of fun, my only concern is that if you go into the water it does slow you down somewhat maybe 1/4-1/3 as much as Tribes 2 though. Just enough that you can tell a difference between in and out of water.

Bah thank god, I hate thick water. In my t2 maps, On quite a few maps, I've actually made the water faster to ski through than it would be skiing on land. No one ever told me tribes made their armor from 3 ton pieces of metal, maybe they made it from some freakily tough, but weightless material =P

I managed to find a nice setting where water was super fast if you skied through it, yet slightly hard if you just fell in =D

I think legends has the whole boncy water thing going, as I've done it in there before.

It's noticeably different, but not slow. It's good I think.

shouldnt it slow you down some?...

Kinda rediculous to think water is as fast as air.

normally it would slow you down, but...
The water displacer speed generator 3000 works off your jetpack system.

Actually, at one point irl there was research in a device that removed water infront of an object creating a vacuum and propelling it forward at extremly high speeds.

i read about that, supercavitating.. it coudl be done with either the shape of the object if it was small, or with some assistance on larger objects. supercavitating bullets was one possibility, but the scarey bit was about the possibility for a rocket to fly under the atlantic then just popup with no warning :scared:

Yep, I've read about this too. They're talking about supersonic torpedos underwater. The torpedo would have small holes all over the body of it that forces some air into the surrounding water forming an air pocket of sorts. How it works exactly I'm not sure but it allows the torpedo to be able to tear through the water much faster due to there being very little resistance.

Keep in mind it's on a differnt planet, so it may not even be hydrogen dioxide, but some liquid which is much more thin.

EDIT: looks like hydrogen dioxide is H2O2

I can't find the scientific name for H2O so let's just say normal water

WATER SKIING WAS ORIGONALLY IN TRIBES 2
I THOUGHT IT WAS cool
but then they took it out cause their dumb and tribes 2 is dumb (dont flame me its my opinion)

Dihydrous oxide, I think. Nobody calls it that; everyone calls it water. Kinda like iron is Fe, originally for ferrous or ferride or something. But now it's just iron.

This was my point =) - especially when you consider they're wearing anti-grav boots.
