vawlk 01-31-2004, 02:36 AM What did you guys think?
Video ok?
Sound?
Personalities?
Buffering issues?
Disconnections?
etc.
I think it stunk overall. 2 hours of talking about what type of shows you'll have. The video was ok, but someone screwed up the mic volumes something bad. There was so much clipping (?) that it was hard to hear what they said sometimes. I hated that damn video window that you can't get rid of (and no i don't want to minimize). What personalities? I didn't laugh once during the whole preshow.
The whole wofn idea is getting sour for me. The sigs, the production, everything is very TSNesque.
 i'm sure others will like it, but for the most part WOFN is overdone.
logmans 01-31-2004, 02:48 AM i listened to 5 minutes of "shout out this shout out that blah blah" and turned it off. i shall not be reconnecting any time soon
StormMage 01-31-2004, 02:59 AM I loved it. The kickoff was a great way to kill time and have a laugh before the press conference. I will definately be tuning in in the future when I have time. The mike volumes were off a bit but that was the only downside to the whole show. Keep up the good work!
vawlk 01-31-2004, 03:01 AM lol, shoutouts are just the dumbest things ever. I muted it til the T:V stuff started.
As for music, if it isn't good, don't play it. And as others have said, the irc channel was out of control. You need more than 1 person booting the abusers.
StormMage 01-31-2004, 03:02 AM That I can agree on, the IRC chan was way out of control. Not much could be done about the music because WOFN doesn't have a RIAA license.
BodyShoT 01-31-2004, 03:10 AM Yes the shoutouts thing got out of hand. We are discussing the situation and will change the way we do shoutouts. The music was bland for a reason. We are actively digging up non-RIAA music and the regularly scheduled shows will have better selections.
Locke355 01-31-2004, 03:49 AM Yes the shoutouts thing got out of hand. We are discussing the situation and will change the way we do shoutouts. T
how about everytime the shoutcaster gives a shoutout, he has to punch himself in the nuts?
Locke355 01-31-2004, 03:52 AM Anything from Epitaph or Fat Wreck Chords. Which quite a few punk bands are. Bounty listens to punk. While obviously we'll never be able to find music for everyone, it is up to the casters to choose what they want to play. If they like techno, you'll hear techno. If they like punk, you'll hear punk. It is the same way any radio station works.
i hope you mean "internet" radio stations, because on actual commercial radio stations, the DJ has little to no say on what is played, unless it is 3am, or it is their "pick of the day". It is all decided by the audience, promotions, and what sells.
Thrax just made a very good point about your comment:
Well, since the DJ wants to stay employed, and therefore wants to play the list, he's correct.

See. Don't be mad because your mommy left your daddy. We still love you even if you are a bastard son of satan himself.
SonGohan 02-01-2004, 04:06 PM I just want to say this now for the devs.
I'm no longer watching, judging this game with it's predecessors. What I see now, I like, and I couldn't give a damn whether or not it resembles the old games or not. Gimmie.
That is all.
SonGohan 02-01-2004, 04:37 PM Also, now that I think of it, you should've ended the presentation by bringing up a .gif file of a UE error onto the screen.

There are alot of things we are working on to make our content more enjoyable for everyone, of course there are going to be some that just don't like what we provide. Sure there were some technical problems, some we had no control over, some we can fix, and we will.
You say we are "TSNesque" well I personally take that as a compliment, TSN has always provided a quality product and I think I speak for the whole WOFN staff when I say alot of what TSN and WSBN have done has had alot of influence on what we are doing now. Sure there are going to be some similarities simply because we provide a very similar service. There will be some differences as well. We are young and we are learning as we go.
We have a lot of plans for the future and our whole reason for doing this is because we love this community and want to give back to it as well as help it grow and evolve. Listening to our bad reviews as well as our good reviews is what will help us improve. So rest assured your comments have been read and taken into consideration.
Check back with us and continue to give us your opinions and what you think would improve things I assure you we will listen.

Elantri_X 02-03-2004, 08:38 PM If it's possible, can you simutanisly stream 3 streams?
- 1 for the online people
- 2 (if needed) for future streaming and small download
- 3 tv quality version
Also, if possible, positioning the camera in the center of the audience. also the lightning was terrible and very blurred, maybe increase the cams brightness next time (if it can be achieved) or add more lightning to the stage (Camera's require more lightning then humans to capture something even in the dark. It's easier to turn down the brightness then it is to increase it).
The sound (especially in the movie) needed to be directly connected to the computer and it sounds like the bitrate is too low and compressed beyond satifactory hearing.
Last problem is the movie was very had to see on an angle (it looked like you couldnt directly see it on the stream. Maybe just play the movie at the same time on the streaming computer and make it look like it was played on the projecter.
Other then that, it was a great show.
