Same thing as people who use the arrow keys and stuff around that instead of WASD or ESDF

I use arrow keys for movement, ctrl for jet, right-click for jump, 0 for next weapon, 1 for zoom, shift for zoom cycle, 2 for max throw mine, enter for pack, etc :p

I'm going to be switching to ESDF when T:V comes out, because I'm tired of all the numpad problems, how long it takes to type something (because I have to move my hand clear across the keyboard, and the lack of available keys (for faster weapon switching).

I can't comprehend using a mouse button to walk. It's quite a bit harder to press than a key, and you don't really get the sensitivity of a key because of that.

Everything like that is adjustable. I believe that the disk is actually faster (to scale) which shows how important perspective is compared to reality.

One thing to remember is that we have a goal of drawing players closer together, so that you can actaully see your enemy when you're fighting him. faster weapon speeds spread that battle out.

From what you're saying here and what you said about most players only needing the little radar on the HUD, I take that to mean that the maps will be quite a bit smaller.

Care to elaborate?

Don't think you can get an answer from that. In the press conference, KP said that map sizes can range from 5v5s to 32 man matches...Go figure...

Well, 32-man might be tough with a little hud in the corner, if you know what I mean. Thus my question on map size.

Just between the various maps we were able to play at the press conference, they varied greatly. Some were larger (around RD size) and some were smaller (around DX size). The radar only picks up localized waypointables right now.

Ok, thanks for that.

Hopefully that gets cleared up by beta, localized-only waypoints would not be good for the game, I don't believe.

Well, if you made the radar too big, it would become less useful because the icons would overlap each other or be too small to recognize what they are.

I think it'll be a relatively small portion of the map size. The only information you'd need at a glance is local radar blips. Anything at longer range ought to be taken care of by way of CC or voice comms.

It looks awesome so far... I'm just wondering what the specs will be. Some of those environments look like they have a lot of objects and a lot of complex animations happening at the same time. It looks really good I just hope the average comp will be able to handle it

prehaps use the map ala bf 1942, so you press a key have have how far and the detail of the map change, and another key to make it full screen.

this could work quite well i think

esdf with A = mine G=Gernade Caps lock to switch weapons. = best settup.
also 12345 for weapons too. Q repair pack etc. Your hand is already centered in good position for quick typing and only hand you have to move to type is mouse...

Well, that's the point of the discussion really, trying to ensure the CC is there to begin with, in some way. Damn hard to organize your team if you can't see where half of them are.
