Rigel 01-28-2004, 08:42 AM Currently Im running:
1 Gig AMD Duron
Soyo Dragon MB
512 mb PC 2700
GForce 2 32 Mb
Sad isn't she? However, once I get my new parts:
AMD Athalon XP 2200 (not great, but I won't complain)
Asus MB (dont know the model yet)
512 mb PC 2700
Radeon 9700 Pro
When I think of her, I get all giddy with excitement.
the only reason I can afford her, is because I was a Resident Assistant this semester and my mom gave me the room and board she would have otherwise paid for (granted a large amount of it is going to Grad school).

That's not always true... I get most of my stuff from newegg but in December we picked up a Dell with the following specs for about $580:
P4 2.6 (800mhz FSB)
256 Dual Chan DDR
Radeon 9800 Pro
80GB HD
CDROM
CDRW
XP
Office2003 (not important here, but still worth some $$)
Case, keyboard, mouse, etc....
Stage01 01-28-2004, 11:09 AM 900 Mhz
512 DDR Ram
GeForce 2 Mx 400 64 megabytes (AGP)
1.5 megabytes per second connection.
can I run this in atleast medium-low with 20-30 fps?
Bullseye 01-28-2004, 12:09 PM Instead of having 100000000 posts with everyone's specs, how about we get the specs that the IG guys have? Please? :)

also.. Thrax, what computers do you guys use at the VU test labs in LA?Depends on what we're testing. Whatever is appropriate. The lab tests aren't about bugs or performance, so we usually overkill as much as possible to remove that as a variable. Focus tests are about "is this fun, do new users understand this, is this character good, what age-group does this resonate with, etc."
pyrot3chnic 01-28-2004, 08:37 PM ok, so what are the specs of the computers you're doing this focus test in LA in Feb.?

Sorry buddy, you didn't get a computer with a Radeon 9800 Pro for $580. Even the 128MB version retails for at least $300. And Dell's current $600 PC comes with an onboard video card that uses system memory.
