I hate DT

I installed DT today, and as soon as I crank up my game it closes because it "failed the texture check." I check out the site for DT and discover THAT I CAN'T PLAY WITH MY CUSTOM SKINS, EFFECTS, AND SOUNDS! Defense Turret is supposed to be an Anti-cheat program, nothing more, nothing less. What's worse is that every fucking server requires you to have it installed, that means the only way to play the game is to kick out the things that make it more enjoyable. Defense Turret is bullshit.

I agree, its bullshit. Gamers have gotten way too paranoid.

How am I a cheater if I install a program that STOPS cheating?

Really, who the fuck cares if you stop one person from using a totally irrelevant hack like clear water. Oooooo so you can see through water thats on like 1 map, that makes you uber. :rolleyes:

I don't have those. I got all my skins from House of Style and all my sounds from the latest Demopack.

I believe theres a checker that tells you what is failing.. dont' know where or who made it..

Install this into your base folder and run it through the T2 browser start menu with the DT CRC check enabled at the bottom of the window. Find out which files are keeping you from being able to play with DT installed, and remove them. Otherwise don't complain.. at least not until DT is required to play competitively. Nobody is making you play on DT enabled servers.

why not remove your skins one by one?

There are only a few things you can't reskin because of DT that make peopel whine.

1) Water (because you'll make it clear, and that's already a cheat on TWL)
2) Cloak Sound (to make it louder, which is an advantage)

that's all i can think of right now. I have weapon skins, a custom GUI, and i have absolutely no problem running DT.

you have to start without DT to run it, because right now DT stops you from starting tribes at all.

Do what Tessio says... Oh and you can still use your replacement sounds, and skins (but stuff like red mines and pink invs will fail crc).
