What cpu are you running? How do you know it's running at 200?

Your m/b doesn't support dual channel but if it shows as 200 that works out to 400 since you double the number.

his motherboard does support dual channel, but only if he has more than 1 stick of ram installed

DDR 200mhz = 400 mhz

single channel you only have 1 stick installed or you didn't put them in the correct slots put them both in the blue slots on the A7N

ppl r dum

Odd...they don't mention it on the Asus site for the -x version. I also read some of the user reviews at Newegg and some mention it doesn't support it.

And the diagram they show in the manual doesn't make as much sense as I'd like it to :/

It's either slots 2 & 3 (blue ones) or 1 & 3 (don't ask me why not 1 & 2). But yes, in your bios, if it's set at 200mhz, that's your 400mhz memory :)

you folks are completely confusing terms.

DDR has nothing to do with DUAL CHANNEL.

DDR = Double Data Rate as opposed to SDR which is Single Data Rate.

Nothing at all to do with DUAL CHANNEL.

The Asus site clearly indicates that the A7N8X deluxe board has Dual Channel, while it makes absolutely no mention of the A7N8X-X supporting Dual Channel.

The A7N8X-X is also listed as being part of the nVidia nForce2-400 chipset series, while the A7N8X DELUXE is listed under the nVidia nForce2-ST series.
