Need help with Creative CD-RW 8438E

Ok it's been posted all over the internet, this cd-rw is really a rebadged Samsung SW-208F. Apparently, it flash protected, and there are no drivers that I can find anywhere. Of course, Creative no longer supports this product.

My problem is, I can burn images fine (Nero6), but can't get the damn thing to read the burned images.

512mb pc133 sdram
maxtor 80gb
gf2 pro

Anyone have a solution to make these things work?

yep, read all of those already.

the only solution i can think of is to buy a new cd-rw or dvd-rw and NEVER EVER BUY CREATIVE AGAIN.

anyone have suggestions for a new writer?
