How do I format (Erase all data) my C drive? on WinXp

I am currently using OS XP and wanting to format and install the OS again.Because there are too many little problems occur, such as lagging, freezes when I am only surfing any websites (not porn or anything stupid, like only email.) and many other messages pop up when i am using it.

Also, my Add and remove options under control panel went missing, I belive it's kazaa causing all these problems, I tried removing it, but it's uninstall won't work and my add and remove programs went missing.

Please give me advice

reboot on an xp cd. follow prompts. do not repair installed copy. delete existing partition.

Does it format my stuff? or does it just run an xp installation again?

it'll have to format if you delete the partition and recreate it.
