I'll try to make this as clear as possible. Basically I have to help update a friends PC, problem is, he only has dial up and without a doubt he is behind on all of the windows updates. I know he has SP1 installed but thats it. Basically what I'm looking for is a way or a program that will install all the hotfixes, or a means to download them all and then manually install..

I remember reading of a program that did this, but I didn't bookmark it or anything and I can't seem to find it :(

Need to update PC without downloading anything off windows update

GFI Languard will scan a box and allow the deployment of patches to remote workstations, but I haven't tried it offline.

http://www.gfi.com/lannetscan/ has detailed information.

[edit] It will generate an html file with hotlinks to the patches needed and allow you to download them to a specific directory. You can then use the app to deploy the patches in sequence or do it manually.

All of Microsoft's Critical Updates can be downloaded and executed manually by the user. Use Windows Update on his PC to generate a list of what he needs. Download them on your computer and burn to CD, then execute/patch on his.
