"Internet Optimizer"

Well some spyware or some crap got on my computer a long time ago named 'Internet Optimizer', so I closed the process, removed it from msconfig, uninstalled the program, ran ad-aware 6, deleted the folder, deleted all registry keys.. and it STILL brings up pop-ups all the dang time and whenever I go to a website that isnt there it has its own little 'this website can not be found, rather search instead', im running winxp and it is not hiding ANYWHERE in the processes, HOW do I get rid of this annoying thing?

You can look more closely at what the processes on your XP box are actually doing by using tasklist /svc from the command line. Check to see if there is a dllhost or svchost doing something it shouldn't.
