Winxp loadup prob

Loaded XP on my friends comp but everytime now that he boots it.......the load screen goes fine but then the monitor shuts off.....it goes on standby (orange light) whats up? whats the deal?

Worked fine on my monitor i was using for it... (17inch) should i lower the refresh rate?

change to minimum resolution and display settings.
