I just recently got a new pc, and I want too put the old HD that I had in my other computer into this one and be able too use it, how would I go about doing this without reformating the drive and looseing all my movies/games/music.

just connect it as slave and make the other master, unless you want to boot off it, then it's a little more complicated.
i'm assuming your other pc already has its own suitably fast and new hd and the OS is already installed...?

huh? that makes sense. i'm assuming you already have a hd that is fast enough for your use and that it's new enough as well.
no, it won't affect it, as long as you keep the order of the drives right. make sure the new one you have there remains master, and the one you're adding in with all your data in it is slave.

is this xp pro? open explorer, go to tools, folder options, view.
all the way at the bottom is use simple file sharing. uncheck that.
now, for the folders that won't let you in, right click and go to its properties and go to the Security tab. hit Advanced and go to the Owner tab. double click your current login and check the box for Replace owner on subcontainers and objects, hit ok.
