My setup is giving me allsorts of wierd sounds when volume is loud and no music is playing. Its a buzzing mixed with a sound thats sort of like morse code (/me wraps head in aluminum foil), I had gotten rid of it when I moved, but just now when i pluged in my monitor it started doing it again (I have a laptop, pluged into my stereo, comp speakers, radio transmitter, and headset)
I'm sure it's some kind of A/C interference being as it started just as I plugged in my monitor, but anyone know WHY? its not plugged into the same outlet as the stereo or anything : /

shut off your aux in/line in on your sound card. also try shutting off analog cd in.

just start unplugging shit and turning off input sources to figure it out.

unplugging my monitor is the solution, but then I have a bigger problem
Sounds like your monitor is emitting a lot of EMI. There's probably not much you can do besides relocating your system/monitor or getting a new screen.

a little update, the stuff doesn't go away when I shutoff the monitor, i think it's ac interference

it's quite possible. you may have a ground loop. are your speakers plugged into a different plug than your computer? plug them into the same one.
