I'm tired of this politically correct "happy holidays" bullshit. Say Merry Christmas for f's sake, considering its Christmas that it's being said on. On Christmas day you say Merry Christmas, not happy holidays :\

I don't celebrate christmas.

Would you rather I push my beliefs on you by saying "Merry Day after the 24th"?

Considering the day is Christmas, and its seen as a national holiday, its appropriate to say Merry Christmas even if you don't celebrate it.. Its a pet peeve of mine though since it's something that's just really come into the mainstream (saying happy holidays over merry christmas), in the past few years. Meh.

So I can follow socially acceptable policies when they fit with what YOU want, but when they fit with what OTHER people want, I am not allowed to. Got it. Thanks for the update.

I just think its funny how people avoid saying Merry Christmas on Christmas day for fear of offending someone. The name of the day is Christmas, it doesen't matter what its origins are, its a national holiday that practically everyone in the US enjoys in some form (day off from work, closeness with family, etc). Avoiding saying Merry Christmas because you may offend someone is like not saying Happy 4th of July or flying american flags on that day because you may offend someone who doesen't like the US. (Even though they live in the US). It's political correctness taken way too far.

You're right. I'm wrong. From now on this site will be dedicated to the life of Christ. Forgive me for my transgressions.

I could see your point if christmas was a purely religious holiday only observed by Christians, but considering its a national holiday, and the most revered holiday the US has where literally just about the entire country shuts down (doesen't happen on any other day of the year to the degree it does on christmas). Christmas effects far far more than just christians, and refusing to say Merry Christmas just because it has it ties in christianity is ignoring the impact of the day imo.
