For your average game that may or may not get a sequal. I forget where I saw the numbers. Ofcourse for some company like EA those numbers would suck, but yeah for your average gaming company thats some pretty big money.
Ehhh no. Even a low-budget game nowadays is gonna set you back 1-2 mil, and 75k copies is about 1.5 mil back to the developer, which isn't a very good return.

Tribes and Tribes 2 sold around a combine 750,000 units lifetime, world wide.I don't understand it.. T2 alone (fromw atching the GUID numbers go up), has over a million. One of the highest GUIDs I've seen was like 1,010,000. Not that I'm saying you're wrong, but how are there that many GUIDs if only 750,000 total from T1 AND T2?

i wonder if he's including returns? those would be negative transactions

that would be funny

That would be like... 300,000 returns, etc. Just seems kinda extreme to me, but then again... I don't really know, that's why I asked.

p.s. take your sarcasm and shove it up your ass. thx

Val, think how many people you know in T2 that have had their accounts reset for whatever reason and got a new WONID in the process.

I just don't see THAT many accounts reset or refunded.... or even both. Idk tbh, just asking Thrax.

How do you check your GUID, since I had T2 installed since day 1, be interesting to see what mine is. It didn't necessarily start at 0.

However, if you have smurf accounts... then you will have several folders (with differ numbers). You can just delete the folders, and then login with the account you want to check out, then shut t2 down, and it'll -recreate the folder with the guid number.

Well mine is 135173... I don't think they sold 135k copies in the first day or two, but I suppose it's possible. More likely it started at 100k though.

there was a "post your guid" thread on TWL a little while ago, and i'm fairly sure there were some people that had guid's less than 6 characters.

*Edit* now that I re-read your post... I see what you're saying. I guess it's possible that they skipped the first 100k (with the exception of the devs, alpha and beta testers). Hmmm, never thought about it really..

The devs had single digits :p

I think the lowest I've seen was like... Fubar with 416.

I doubt T2 sold 1 million copies. Marweas made a post like 6 months after T2 was released saying they sold like 100 k, and that was after the T2 hype machine ended.

I could have sworn it was somewhere around 500k or more for T2.

I was in beta but that should have no carry over since we didn't get to keep our names.

(I'm still pissed about that to this day)
